Purpose of this process:

The use case that was requested to create this process was to set monthly publisher caps. This would limit the amount of leads a publisher is allowed to deliver on a monthly basis. This process requires 3 steps for setup that are identified below.

Manipulate Function

The Manipulate function can be setup through the value transforms section. In order to allow value transforms to be setup on your campaign, please see the link below. Once Value Transforms are setup, please follow the steps below.  Value Transforms Setup Link

1. Select your campaign
2. Select Admin à Value Transforms
3. Enter the data necessary in the field options as indicated in the screenshot below
   1. Original Field – createdDate (This fieldname is case sensitive, and will populate off of the field Created Time Stamp)
   2. New Field – month (This will be a new field name created, but can be whatever you would like)
   3. Label – Monthly Publisher Band (Any label will help you remember this job function)
4. Select Manipulate
   1. Regex Find and Replace
   2. Find Regex - /(\d{4})\-(\d{2})\-(\d{2})$/ (this must be an exact value, so please copy and paste the bold letters)

Publisher Bands

The Publisher Bands can be setup to allow you to set different conditions. This is typically used to outline how much a publisher should receive per lead. In order to allow Publisher Bands to be setup on your campaign, please see the link below. Once Value Transforms are setup, please follow the steps below. Publisher Bands Setup Link

1. Select your campaign
2. Select Admin à Publisher Bands
3. Enter the data necessary in the field options as indicated in the screenshot below
   1. Form Field – month (This fieldname is case sensitive, and would match the field name created in the Manipulate function)
   2. Value – 06 (This should be a 2-digit number that would identify the Month)
   3. Band Name – June (This would the name of the month created in the value field above)

           4. Repeat these steps for every month that you would like to setup a monthly publisher                     band

Assign a Publisher

Finally, we need to set these bands, and apply to publishers. The steps below will identify how to assign the new monthly bands to the publishers. 

New Publisher

1. Select your campaign
2. Select Admin --> Publisher
3. Assign Publisher --> Caps on Bands
4. The monthly bands that were created will be available for assignment. You can then identify the monthly cap you would like to assign to the publisher.

 Existing Publisher

1. In order to apply these Monthly Publisher Caps to the existing publishers, you must disable the existing publisher, and then re-add the publisher by completing the following steps.

1. Select your campaign
2. Select Admin --> Publisher
3. Assign Publisher --> Caps on Bands
4. The monthly bands that were created will be available for assignment. You can then identify the monthly cap you would like to assign to the publisher.
