Introduction
The Live Email Validation Check is an in-campaign validation job that will verify if an email address is live.
The job uses a third party API to do this verification in real-time and will return the following statuses depending on the result:
- Valid - The email address is a valid account
- Invalid - The email address is invalid
- Unknown - The email address looks good but the associated domain is not responding. This could be a temporary status returned by a domain that is having problems, or a permanent issue for a dead or dying domain.
- Accept All - Indicates that this domain always says their email addresses are valid, even if they aren't. It will appear as if all of the emails are valid at the domain, but the recipient actually has a firewall or another spam tool that may remove the email message or send a bounce message at a later time
Adding the Rule to your Campaign
1. Navigate to the Processr tab within your campaign
2. Click Add Job
3. Use the dropdown to search for the Live Email Validation Check
4. Click Save
Configuring the Live Email Validation Check
1. Click Configure beside the Live Email Validation Check
2. Configure your settings for Unknown and Accept-All responses
With the above configuration, any emails that return the status of 'unknown' will fail the Live Email Validation Check, while responses of 'accept all' will become valid. Please see the descriptions of these statuses below:
- Unknown - This is usually a temporary status for domains having intermittent issues, or a permanent issue for dead domains. As we are unable to conclusively determine the result, the email address is marked as unknown.
- Accept All - These are domains that respond to every verification request in the affirmative, and therefore cannot be fully verified.
3. Next, click on the Mappings tab and select your email field from the Form Input dropdown:
